Groups & Monthly Activities
The Southbury Newcomers & Neighbors Club has
Activities and Social Events to meet everyone’s interests. Each
group is open for all to join and have fun. If you have a special
interest in forming a new activity, please let
Rachel know. Also, we
will be hosting special events and parties throughout the year, so
look for eVites. Look on the Calendar
page or the home page
for specific dates and locations for these groups:
Book Discussion: This women’s group will meet the first Thursday
evening of every month to discuss and dissect fun fiction titles.
We’ll have a few snacks and drinks to keep the discussion lively.
Books will be announced 1 month in advance. We’ll be meeting in
various homes and local gathering places. Contact Bonnie to join.

Destination Dinner Group: Every other month, we will get together
to try out a local restaurant in Danbury, Woodbury, Southbury, New
Haven. This is a chance to get to know each other and escape for a fun
evening. Contact Kristen at
k10funk@hotmail.com for more information.
Dinner Group: On the months that we are not going out to a
restaurant, we will have theme dinners. Sign up to host one of these,
pick a theme and each guest will bring a dish to go with the theme.
There will be a Fondue party in November, so look for this eVite.

Wine Tasters: Come and meet your neighbors and sample a variety
of local and imported wines with food pairing. Look for an eVite for the
first event.

Night out at the Movies: If you are interested in movies and a
fun evening out -- please join us for movie night. Usually the group car
pools or meets at a restaurant close to the theatre to have a cocktail
or bite to eat. Then we head off to see a new film of interest. If you
are interested in joining us for movie night, contact Eileen Studdert at
eileen_sullivan@yahoo.com.
Eileen will be in touch one week prior to movie night to inform you of
the meeting time and location. See you at the movies!!!
Hiking or walking: There are so many trails to discover in
Southbury. If you have children, this is a good way to introduce them to
the natural beauty of this town. If you have dogs, this is a great way
to provide exercise time. Saturdays or Sundays seem to work well, so
please contact Julie for more information:
